The story of Formthotics began over 40 years ago with a simple observation - our feet were not designed for the hard, flat surfaces of modern life.
What started as a pioneering solution to restore natural foot function has grown into a globally recognised New Zealand orthotics brand trusted by clinicians, sports specialists, athletes, and active individuals worldwide.
From the early prototypes developed in New Zealand to our transition into sustainable materials, Formthotics’ history is one of relentless innovation and unwavering commitment to improving lives. Every milestone represents a step toward our mission to keep people healthy, active, and mobile.
40+ years of great history, and still counting

The First Formthotics Heating Machine
Our first heating machine makes its debut, standing taller than most of us. Constructed with a steel frame and plywood panels, it featured a pedal-activated heating system with retractable tubes and an “egg-timer” switch. It may look old-school now, but it set the foundation for precision fitting that still defines our products today.
